Frame & The Chinese Communist Party
Being disappointed in my colleagues, I decide to take the Chinese-Pelosi threats and break it down so they can understand.
The Chinese communist party are really good at a particular game, a high level frame game. It might be innate in the monolithic powers because the Russians play a similar game every now and then.
Lately I’ve seen so many smart people fall for the games, I’m highly disappointed in them. But maybe I was born with an innate skill to recognize these games or I was slowly bred to recognize them watching my parents play. We’ll take a real world example and break it down
US politician Nancy Pelosi plans a visit to Asia on June 29, 2022 in that visit she plans to make a stop in Taiwan.
Immediately China starts to talk of “consequences” if she visits Taiwan. If you’re an amateur you would think it’s because Pelosi’s visit would some how “legitimize” Taiwan as a country and they are willing to go to war so that doesn’t happen. But that argument doesn’t hold up because the US already recognizes Taiwan as a country. Pelosi’s visit doesn’t change any US foreign policy, so why are the Chinese threatening war?
To isolate Taiwan, that’s the short answer but there’s more to it. This is a psychological game, a bluff. Falling for this bluff has huge consequences. In the world today, the most dominant super power get’s to determine the framework most of the world operates under because they have the military, money and control to enforce it. Let’s pretend that Pelosi doesn’t visit out of fear of “Consequences” from China. This shows the world that the US is now afraid of the CCP, and if the US is afraid everyone else in the world will fall into that fearful frame of mind and China get’s to push the game of “Taiwan is not a country” further and control all foreign interaction with the government of Taiwan.
Ok sure but what if it’s not a bluff? What if Pelosi visits and it starts a HUGE war? Well again if you’re not an amateur you would know that they always pull this card with every western Taiwan visit and more. Plus a hot war with the US doesn’t benefit China at all.

I think you’re starting to get the point, they do this all the time. The only thing that’s different about this upcoming visit is that the US media picked this up and made it go crazy. The Ukraine situation is also fresh on peoples minds, fear and doom sells. If you fall for it, you’re doing exactly what they wanted you to do, accepting their frame of the world.
Russia and the Nuke card
In ‘ The Nuclear Card - Understanding Politics So You Never Fall For It (Part 4)’ I explained how Russian uses it’s nukes as a psychological weapon to achieve their foreign policy goals.
“Every time your competitors interfere in a big way in your affairs threaten them with your nuclear weapons. It’s very effective because it puts them in a dilemma. They can chose to escalate and risk nuclear war or they back down. You can basically kind of keep this up forever if you do it right. Imagine the Third Reich with this card, they wouldn’t even have to play it to keep London and Moscow at bay. Just keep threatening them with it if they interfere in your “affairs”. You can avoid existential war, make gains, and keep your position. Eventually everyone forgets and you live happily ever after until you decide to use it again for further gains.”
Putin is really good at this game, plus western media always categorizing him as some kind of bond villain makes him look extra scary and makes his game even more effective. Will you accept someone’s frame of the world if you think they’ll start a nuclear war otherwise?
