Ask Not For Whom The Bell Tolls, It Tolls For Thee.
The Terrible Miscalculation of Hamas
When Hamas kicked off the war in Gaza on October 7th 2022, I inquired about their reasoning and eventually got an answer. Iran did not want the rest of the Gulf states to normalize relations and eventually ally with Israel. If Israel and states like Saudi Arabia dominate the middle east they would hinder Iran geopolitical ambitions. All of this is true but like I noted back then, it’s missing something huge.
In life one thing you always want to ask yourself is, in who’s game are you playing? When Hamas was being cheered on by Iran to go through with this, not once did they think… What do I gain from this?
Unless their only goal was to kill Israelis and die shortly after, the October 7th attack was one of the dumbest strategic moves in history. Does Hamas understand that Iran just looks at them like useful idiots? Do they understand that Iran doesn’t think they can actually win? Palestine has a long history of being a used as pawns for Arab states and today is no different.
